Khumbu receives tourists even in off-season

SOLUKHUMBU: The Khumbu area in Solukhumbu district has received a good number of tourists even during this time of the off-season.

The winter period is considered an off-season for tourism in the Khumbu area.

In the past three days, a total of 95 tourists visit the Khumbu region, according to a report of the Sagarmatha National Park.

Of them, 68 tourists are foreigners, three from SAARC countries, two Nepalis, 18 porters and four tour guides, Chief Conservation Officer of the National Park, Bhumiraj Upadhyay said.

He added that a total of Rs 215,150 in revenue was collected from them. Currently, most of the hoteliers in the Khumbu region are out from here due to winter and off-season for tourism.

Tourism entrepreneur Lama Kaji Shrestha said that the visitors have arrived here as the weather here is clear these days.

As there is no snowfall this winter, the trekking routes here are of good quality.
