Misappropriation by leaders holding public office warrants action: DPM Lingden

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Energy and Irrigation Rajendra Lingden has said the political leaders holding public offices from federal to province would face action if they are found involved in the misappropriation of funds.

“If any leader is founded involved in bribe taking, they would be punished in a way they would be unable to restore their image again,” he warned.

According to him, people have expected good governance from the RPP. “We joined the government to fulfill the commitment but it is an ordeal,” he reminded, adding that the party joined the government to implement commitment against corruption.

Lingden also sought support and encouragement for this bid. He however maintained that it would be too early to judge them.

“We work in a result-oriented manner so that we earn plaudit when we retire from office,” Lingden asserted.

The DPM urged one and all not to approach him with the request for the issues of transfer, promotion and appointment.
