Two, including manpower owner, arrested for fraud in foreign employment allegations

KATHMANDU: The police have apprehended two in connection with a fraudulent employment scheme involving promises of jobs in Saudi Arabia.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Minbhawan, Kathmandu, the detained suspects are 42-year-old Laxman Biswa from Nawalparasi and 40-year-old Sophia Malla from Kavrepalanchowk.

Laxman Biswa, who operates the Osho Recruiting Agency in Old Baneshwor, Kathmandu, allegedly planned to send Om Babu Sah to Saudi Arabia for overseas employment, demanding NPR 125,000 for the process.
Sah claimed that Biswa assured him (Sah) of a prestigious position in a renowned Saudi company with a monthly salary of NPR 40,000.

Biswa’s deceit was revealed when Sah, after reaching Saudi Arabia and losing contact with Biswa, filed a complaint at the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range. Consequently, both individuals were apprehended on December 8.

The police informed that the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, Kathmandu will conduct further investigations and legal proceedings on it.
