Justice Raut takes the Bench: Hearing today on case against Ncell’s share sale and purchase

KATHMANDU: The long-anticipated hearing of the writ petition filed by lawmaker Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh against Ncell is set to take place today.

After multiple postponements, the proceedings will be conducted by Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut.

The petitioner alleges that Ncell sold its shares in violation of existing laws and asserts that the transaction lacks transparency. Lawmaker Singh is urging the government to nullify the transaction.

Key respondents named in the writ include the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Nepal Telecommunications Authority, the Office of the Registrar of Companies, the Internal Revenue Department, and Ncell.
