Light, brief rainfall likely today



KATHMANDU: The monsoon low-pressure axis is situated southwards from its normal position. The weather is partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region of Sudurpaschim Province and the rest of the provinces. It is partly cloudy in the Tarai region of Sudurpaschim province.

One or two places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces are receiving light rainfall, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

The weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country today with chances of light to moderate rainfall along with thunder and lightning at some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Lumbini provinces and at a few places of the rest of the provinces, meteorologist Govinda Jha said.

The weather will be partly to generally cloudy in Kathmandu towards the afternoon today with the possibility of brief light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning towards the afternoon and evening, meteorologist Jha said. The maximum temperature in Kathmandu is likely to be between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius today.

Tonight the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region of the country and partly cloudy to generally fair in the rest of the areas. There are chances of light to moderate rainfall along with thunder and lightning in some places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of the rest of the regions of the country tonight according to the latest weather bulletin published by the Division.
