Socialist Front Nepal: Parties to work separately, Secretariat to handle the Front



KATHMANDU: Top leaders of the four left-inclined parties in Socialist Front Nepal, announced on Monday, have agreed to run the Front through turn-wise leadership.

Reading the agreement, Janata Samajbadi party leader Rajendra Shrestha said that the top leaders will take turns leading the Front.

“Top leaders will take turns leading the front. The decision-making process on this front will be in accordance with the recognition of consensus and cooperation,” he said.

It is mentioned in the letter of agreement that the members of the front will take action based on common policies, programs, and objectives.

The front will have its own secretariat. There will be a secretariat to implement and monitor the policies, plans, and programs decided by the Morcha as well as conduct daily work. In which there will be representatives as determined by the member parties”, Shrestha said.

The parties in the Front announced not to carry out any activities contradictory to the Front’s spirit.

“The parties will not carry out their activities contrary to the spirit of the Front,” Shrestha said, adding, “However, they will be free to work in accordance with the party policy in their separate programs.”

15 objectives and policy commitments of the Front were made public on Monday.

The Front comprises CPN-Maoist Center, Janata Samajwadi Party, CPN-Unified Socialist Party, and Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led CPN.
