Meeting of Constitutional Council to name CJ remains inconclusive

The meeting of Constitutional Council held at the Prime Minister’s Office, Singha Durbar on Tuesday morning could not agree on recommending a name of the Chief Justice. The meeting participated by top leaders, including the Prime Minister, leader of the main opposition party, among others remained inconclusive due to lack of consensus among the leaders.

President Paudel flown to India for treatment

President Ram Chandra Paudel is flown to New Delhi, the capital of India, today for further treatment. President Paudel was taken by an air ambulance of Shree Airlines to New Delhi today morning, said President Paudel’s press advisor Kiran Paudel.

Ministry of Health urges 7-day isolation for Covid patients

Amid increasing cases of Covid-19 cases, the Ministry of Health and Population has urged one and all for seven-day isolation to COVID-19 patients. Joint Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari said the isolation for seven days is mandated if anyone has fever and breathing complications.

EC publishes names of 74 candidates not submitting election expenses

The Election Commission has published the names of 74 candidates contesting last year’s November 20 parliamentary election but not submitting the details of the election expenses within the stipulated time. Among them, 37 were contesting for House of Representatives seat while remaining 37 for the Province Assembly, according to the Commission.

Take-offs and landings at TIA to be halted from 1 am to 7 am on Thursday

Take-offs and landings at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu will be halted from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Thursday. Director General at the TIA, Pratap Babu Tiwari said all domestic and international flights will be closed at the airport during this period.

Nationwide Vitamin ‘A’ campaign begins today

The national vitamin ‘A’ campaign for children begins today. The campaign to administer vitamin A capsules to children is taking place across the country today and tomorrow, said Director of the Family Welfare Division under the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Bivek Kumar Lal. The children will also receive deworming tablets along with vitamin A capsules.

NA Chair Timilsina leaves for Russia

National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina left here for Russia today, leading an eight-member parliamentary delegation at the invitation of the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko. The Federation Council is the upper chamber of the Federal Assembly of Russia.

NEPSE increases by 15.13 points on Wednesday

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has witnessed a double-digit growth of 15.13 on the fourth trading day of the week. The market closed at 1920.12 points. With the increase in all sub-indices except mutual funds, NEPSE witnessed the rise.
