Cheetah killed in road accident



BENI: A Cheetah has been killed after being run over by a motorcycle. The incident took place last night when the motorcycle (Ba. 8 Pa. 4072) that Sushil Khatri was riding hit the wild animal as it tried to cross the road from the nearby jungle.

The Cheetah died on the spot in the accident that took place at in Ratnechaur of Beni Municipality-1, according to Head of Division Forest Office, Myagdi, Manoj Ranabhat.

The Cheetah died of head injuries. Meanwhile, the condition of motorcycle rider Khatri is reported to be normal, according to the District Police Office.

The ongoing incidents of fire in the forest has disturbed the habitat of the wild animals and are thereby straying around looking for safer places, Ranabhat said.
