NWPP demands status of main opposition

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party (NWPP) has demanded that it be granted the status of main opposition party in the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament, as per the existing laws.

The parties that support the incumbent government cannot be the main opposition parties.

So, it should be given the status of main opposition party, the party reasoned. Taking time from the HoR Speaker in today’s meeting, NWPP lawmaker Prem Suwal demanded so.
