SIRAHA: Ten Dalit families have been provided with new homes in Bhulke, Kajarnaha municipality-4, Siraha.

Each of these structures includes three rooms and a toilet and is the outcome of collaboration between the local government and the Bhawani Integrated Development Centre.

Mayor Bhola Prasad Pokhrel said that ten families have received their new houses, and more than 55 families will be gradually accommodated in similar homes.

The local government targets to establish a model settlement by incorporating economically disadvantaged Dalit families. The construction of 55 more houses is currently underway.

Deputy Mayor Laxmi Kumari Shrestha expressed the local government’s commitment to improving the lives of the Dalit community and supporting their livelihoods.

The recipients of these new homes are happy over finding new homes during the Dashain festival.
