Culture and festivals are Nepal’s identity: NC President Deuba

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba said the country, which is rich in religions, cultures and festivals is our identity and pride.

In a message given today on the occasion of the Teej festival, NC President Deuba wished peace and prosperity to all Nepalis, and believed such festivals have contributed to strengthening social amity and unity.

Deuba, also the former Prime Minister, viewed our tradition of expressing mutual love, goodwill, trust and brotherhood in all festivals reflect the society as a common garden.

Furthermore, he acknowledged that the Teej festival holds a special significance in fostering family bonds as married women visit their natal homes on this day.

On the occasion, he wished this festival increased joy and sense of belongingness in our families as well as in our society and country.
