KATHMANDU: Baburam Gautam of Okhaldhunga and Ashok Kumar Mandal of Saptari have been added to the Central Committee of the ruling CPN-Maoist Center.

Party General Secretary Dev Gurung informed that Gautam has been brought back to the Central Committee after resigning as the Speaker of the Koshi Province Assembly and becoming the Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning there.

Mandal was also subject to disciplinary action for his rebel candidacy in the last House of Representatives election. Mandal had filed candidacy from Saptari-1 despite the party’s decision not to file a nomination there.

General Secretary Gurung said that Mandal got automatically promoted to his post after the action against him was released.

With this, the Maoist Center’s Central Committee has got 411 members now.
