Rescued girl passes away in Panchthar



PANCHTHAR: A nine-year-old girl who was rescued alive after falling into a landslide in Falelung Rural Municipality-3 of Paanchthar has died.

Local residents rescued Juna Sawaden, who was buried in her grandfather Mana Prasad Rai’s house at Falelung-3 Kholaghari, alive on Sunday morning.

Juna died during treatment at Paanchthar Hospital, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Khatiwada.

Mana Prasad’s house was swept away by a landslide at midnight.

Juna was rescued in the morning.

Although Manprasad and his wife managed to escape and save their lives, Juna, who was asleep, was caught in the landslide.
