‘Power Summit-2023’ begins in Kathmandu today

KATHMANDU: The Eighth edition of “Power Summit-2023″ is being organized in Kathmandu from today with the slogan ‘Broadening Green Energy Markets”.

The Independent Power Producers’ Association Nepal (IPPAN) is organizing the Summit today and tomorrow (April 18-19, 2023).

The Investment Board Nepal is co-sponsoring the program with the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation as the patron.

The South Asia Forum on Energy Investments will make public report the regarding collection of investment in South Asia in the Summit.

Meanwhile, the organizers said that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will also be signed for the direct electricity purchase between Nepal’s hydropower projects and Indian buyers in the Summit.

The two-day event will bring together as many as 800 participants from all across the power sector including 300 international delegates from more than 30 countries, according to IPPAN.

According to IPPAM, the two-day Summit will have 13 sessions covering issues relating to markets for Nepal’s power, demand for Nepal’s hydropower, transmission infrastructure, thinking beyond hydropower to solar, technology and innovation, regulatory framework, hydrogen, cross-border power trade, among others.
