KATHMANDU: Lawmaker Rajendra Bajgain, representing Gorkha 1, has arranged for rescue mission, saving three individuals from the remote village of Samdo, situated in the northern region of the Gorkha district.
MP Bajgain orchestrated the safe retrieval of one critically ill person and two assisting individuals, successfully transporting them to Kathmandu via helicopter on Tuesday.
The rescued individuals, identified as Basant Ghimire, Kapil Ghimire, and Subodh Aryal, were all safely brought back to Kathmandu courtesy of Air Dynasty helicopter services.
Notably, Samdo, a village located in Chumanubri Rural Municipality, remains disconnected from the road network, adding complexity to the task of reaching and assisting individuals in remote areas.
The rescue operation became necessary as snowfall blanketed the Sai Manaslu region for the first time this season, spanning across Monday and Tuesday. Unfavorable weather conditions, characterized by persistent cloud cover, compounded the situation. One of the three tourists visiting the Manaslu region fell seriously ill following the sudden snowfall.
MP Bajgain collaborated closely with the District Administration Office, Gorkha and the Ministry of Home Affairs to facilitate the rescue mission. It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Bajgain has demonstrated his commitment to assisting the sick and stranded in remote areas. The MP is a member of the Nepali Congress and continues to exhibit a strong sense of duty to his constituents and fellow citizens.
