NC President Deuba proposes to live-stream CC meeting

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has proposed to broadcast the Central Committee meeting live. Speaking at the discussion held at his residence in Dhumbarahi on Monday, the NC President proposed to conduct the meeting live to ensure the transparency of the discussion held in the meeting. The NC is holding its central working committee meeting on Tuesday.

Public transport fare decreases with implementation of Automated Pricing System

The government has taken steps to address the impact of the automated pricing system on petroleum products, resulting in a reduction in the fare of public transport. With the recent adjustment in the automated pricing mechanism, the prices of diesel and petrol have been lowered by Rs 4 per liter and Rs 6 per liter, respectively.

Domestic airfare up due to VAT inclusion

Domestic airline companies in Nepal have recently announced the implementation of value-added tax (VAT) on their services, starting today. The Airlines Operators Association of Nepal issued a press note today, informing the public about their decision to incorporate VAT in domestic airfares, aligning with the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2023-24.

Govt spends around 80 percent of annual budget in 2022/23

The federal government has spent around 80 percent of the planned annual budget in the fiscal year 2079/80 BS (2022/23 AD). It may be noted that the government had come up with an annual budget of Rs 1783 billion 736.3 million for the last fiscal year.

Former Agriculture Minister of Lumbini Province Yadav arrested for banking offense

Former Agriculture Minister of Lumbini Province, Vijay Yadav, was arrested for a banking offense. Yadav, who had previously served as the Minister of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperative, was taken into custody due to a case registered against him for a bank cheque bounce at the Bank of Kathmandu.

Locals of Sisdol, Bancharedanda stop trucks carrying garbage from Kathmandu

Locals of Sisdol and Bancharedanda, located in Nuwakot district, have taken action to prevent tippers from transporting garbage from Kathmandu through their areas. People’s representatives from Kakani Rural Municipality, Dhunibensi Municipality, along with local residents, blocked the tippers carrying garbage at Aletar, a location at the border of Dhading and Nuwakot districts.

Gold traded at Rs 112,200 per tola today

Gold price remained unchanged in the domestic market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been fixed at Rs. 112,200 per tola and standard gold is traded at Rs 111,650 per tola.

Bir Hospital and Trauma Centre providing OPD services from 8 am

OPD service has started at 8 am from today at the Bir Hospital and the National Trauma Centre. Before, this service was started from 9 am. Dr Santosh Poudel, Director at Bir Hospital, shared that the OPD services have been started from 8am from today for the convenience of the patients.
