Govt for secure future of players: Sports Minister Limbu

POKHARA: Minister for Youth and Sports, Dig Bahadur Limbu, has said the ministry would launch a program to ensure a secure future for the national players.

He shared that legal arrangements would be made to make happy the post-sports life of players who earn repute to the country by playing in national and international tournaments.

Minister Limbu said it while inaugurating the province-level ITF Taekwondo competition at Pokhara Stadium Saturday. He opined that cooperation from the private sector could help develop the sports sector in Nepal. The sports infrastructures would be prepared as per federal spirit, the Minister said, expressing worry that the sports sector was still functioning in old structures. It must be changed, Limbu underscored.

The competition has the participation of over 300 players from seven districts of Gandaki Province, according to Gandaki Chair of ITF Taekwondo Association, Gham Bahadur Thapa.

Official coordinator of the event, Askash Chandra Ghartimagar, said the competition was being held for 28 gold medals, 28 silver medals ad 32 bronze medals.
