School Staff Council calls for community school closure from tomorrow

KATHMANDU: The Nepal School Staff Council has called for the indefinite closure of the community school starting from Sunday.

Issuing a press statement on Friday, the general secretary of the council, Shantinath Yogi, urged all 77 district working committees and 753 local municipality working committees to implement the program of school closure.

The council has been agitating for some time demanding professional stability along with various service facilities for school employees of public schools.

Yogi complained that even though the first and second phase programs have been completed, the government is not serious about their demands and on the contrary, the police suppressed them during the protest.
