Rayamajhi, Khand, others to remain in custody for another 3 days



KATHMANDU: All 14 individuals accused in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam — former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamazhi, former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand and others – will remain in custody for another three days for investigation.

Even though the District Public Prosecutor’s Office, Kathmandu had asked the police to submit a report by Wednesday after completion of the investigation, the police demanded to extend the deadline again saying that the investigation was not completed.

The Kathmandu District Court allowed the police to keep the accused in custody for 3 more days for investigation.

Two days ago, the police announced the arrest of Rayamajhi from the Budhanilkantha area.

Police have arrested Bal Krishna Khand, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Keshav Dulal, Tanka Kumar Gurung, Sanu Bhandari, Sagar Rai, Indrajit Rai, Sandesh Sharma, Tek Narayan Pandey, Narendra KC, Sandeep Rayamajhi, Ram Sharan KC, Govinda Chaudhary and Angtawa Sherpa, over their alleged involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.
