SC hearing on former CJ Rana-related impeachment case today



KATHMANDU: The Constitutional Bench at the Supreme Court (SC) is hearing the writ related to the impeachment of the then Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana on Wednesday.

The Constitutional Bench under acting Chief Justice Hair Krishna Karki is hearing on former Chief Justice Rana related letter written by the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament, Bharatraj Gautam.

Earlier, Gautam had written to the suspended Chief Justice Rana and informed him that the impeachment against him (Rana) was void since the parliament session ended.

Although the date of the hearing was fixed on April 19 ( Baisakh 6), the hearing was adjourned on that day citing a lack of time.
