Do away with opportunists in the party: NC leader Koirala

TANAHU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has cautioned the party leaders towards the weakening position due to opportunistic characters.

Addressing the youths’ gathering in Bhanu Municipality-2 on Monday, leader Koirala argued that the party’s position would deteriorate if the opportunists get a chance.

“Opportunists are getting change in the party as individualistic approach ruled the roost. The party will become weak if the opportunists enjoy chances. I am already aware of such individuals,” Koirala said while asking the citizens of Tanahun constituency no. 1 to remain cautious of the opportunists.

Seeking a vote for Govinda Bhattarai, NC’s candidate for Tanahun constituency no. 1 in the by-election, Koirala claimed that the constituency will develop under the leadership of NC.

Leader Koirala also urged to unite all the NC leaders stating that the party’s leadership was coming to the new generation.

Stating that the current government will run for five years, Koirala said that the country should be advanced towards prosperity, committing to a corruption-free society, transparency, accountability, and good governance.

On the occasion, NC central committee member Pradip Poudel and CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Krishna Kumar Shrestha also shared their views on the electoral program seeking votes for NC candidate Govinda Bhattarai.
