Army to be mobilized for April 23 by-election



KATHMANDU: Nepali Army (NA) will be mobilized in the upcoming April 23 by-election of the House of Representatives (HoR).

President Ram Chandra Paudel has granted permission to mobilize the Nepali Army in the upcoming by-election for the free, fair and peaceful conduct of the by-election.

President Paudel approved the proposal to mobilize the Nepali Army on the recommendation of the National Security Council and in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers made on April 11.

The President’s approval was as per Article 66 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, the President’s Office said in a statement.
