Vice presidential candidate Yadav vows to promote national unity



KATHMANDU: Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, one of the Vice President candidates, said he would contribute towards making Nepal a prosperous nation by promoting national unity if he is elected to the post.

Expressing his confidence of getting elected, the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal’s leader said, “Abidance to the constitution, its preservation and promotion of national unity would be my priority. I will play my role to develop Nepal as a capable and prosperous nation.”

Yadav made it clear that he would fulfill his duties as an aide to the President if he is elected the Vice President and work sincerely for the interest of the people in accordance with the constitutional provisions.

The voting under the election to the Vice President kicked off at 10am and it will run until 3pm today.

The Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), the Rastriya Janamorcha and his party, JSP, have supported Yadav while the Lokatantrik Samajbadi Party and Nagarik Unmukti Party have backed Mamata Jha of the Janamat Party.
