Will set presidential candidate in consensus: PM Dahal



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said on Friday that there would be a national consensus on the presidential candidate.

Speaking to the media while leaving Balkot after holding a meeting with CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, Prime Minister Dahal said that the alliance would remain intact and the name of the candidate for the next President would be decided on consensus.

“We are together. The ruling coalition is intact,” he said, adding, “We will finalize the presidential candidate in consensus. It will be decided in a day or two.”

The top leaders of the ruling coalition held a more than two hours long talk in UML Chairman Oli’s residence in Balkot on Friday afternoon.

Earlier, Prime Minister Dahal and UML Chair Oli had a one-on-one meeting for more than two hours in Baluwatar on Thursday.
