We will ensure no patient will die due to lack of money: Dr. Tosima Karki



KATHMANDU: Minister of State for Health Dr. Tosima Karki has said that she will end the situation where people have to die without getting treatment due to lack of money.

Resuming her post at the Ministry of Health on Tuesday, she said that she will end the situation of losing lives due to lack of money.

She also said that as mentioned in the Constitution, health will be promoted as a fundamental right.

Minister of State Karki signed two decisions on Sunday. According to ministry sources, the decisions signed include the decisions regarding the decentralization of eye health treatment to the state and basic health centers and the minimum standard of service of health institutions.

Karki signed the National Eye Health Strategy (079-086) and said that eye treatment will be made accessible.

The aim of this strategy is to extend eye treatment to the community level so that no one is deprived of eye care facilities.
