UML’s Mid-Hill East-West Campaign reaches Phidim today, identity-centric groups call for shutdown

PHIDIM: The CPN-UML’s Mid-Hill East-West Campaign is set to reach Panchthar on Saturday.

A team of participants, including Chairman KP Oli, has progressed 76 kilometers towards Panchthar from Aathrai, the birthplace of the party chair, as informed by UML leaders.

Today, the party has organized a program in Phidim. This journey, which commenced on November 30 from Baitadi’s Jhulaghat, will conclude at Chiwabhanjyang in Panchthar on December 17, traversing through the eastern stretch of the mid-hill highway.

Chairman Oli and other officials, leaders, and party cadres are actively participating in this journey.

The party has reaffirmed its commitment to the vision of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’, emphasizing the mid-hill Pushpa Lal Lokmarga (road) for this Determination Journey.

Concurrently, former identity-centric groups have called for a shutdown in Koshi Province. They demand the release of their arrested leaders and activists, calling for a transportation closure on Saturday and Sunday.

Authorities have intensified security measures, overseeing vehicular operations by providing escorts to vehicles during the closure period.
