Gairigaon murder case: One suspect arrested

Four people found murdered in Gaurigaon, Tinkune in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: In connection with the Gairigaon murder case in Kathmandu, the police have taken an individual into custody as a suspect.

The incident unfolded last night at Divya Sawmill, where four individuals lost their lives.

Those killed are identified as Kumar Bhujel, 56, of Dolakha and currently working as a gatekeeper in the sawmill, his wife Ambika Bhujel, 52, Kumar’s mother, Shubhadra Bhujel, 76, and Nabin Rai, age 20, originally from Belbari in Morang, according to Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Senior Superintendent of Police Dineshraj Mainali.

Police have detained one person for questioning, suspecting their involvement in the event.

AIG Deepak Thapa, Head of the Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari, confirmed the arrest of 28-year-old Dipendra Rai, who was discovered with bloodstains on his clothing and shoes.

Additionally, it was observed that he had consumed alcohol.

Four people were found murdered in Gaurigaon, Tinkune in Kathmandu this morning.

The bodies of four people were found with injuries hit by sharp weapons and the incident is believed to have taken place around 12 midnight, said Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Senior Superintendent of Police Dineshraj Mainali.

The dead include two women and two men.

The ongoing investigation is being diligently pursued, with police teams actively engaged in gathering crucial information.

As of now, the cause of the incident remains undisclosed.

To aid in the investigation, tracker dogs from the Canine Division of the Nepal Police have been dispatched to the crime scene.
