FWU padlocked for one month

DODHARA CHANDANI: The central office of the Far-Western University (FWU) has been padlocked for the past month in protest by a student union demanding an end to the political appointments of the university office bearers and teachers.

As a result of the padlocking, classes, and administrative work have been affected. Regular administrative work of the university has been affected.

“Although the All Nepal National Free Students Union close to the CPN (UML) withdrew its protest, the National Democratic Youth Front affiliated with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has resorted to an agitation padlocking the office,” said FWU university information officer Santosh Bista.

The Front chairperson, of the university, Prem Rawal warned of continuing the protest until their demand is met.

“Although we have held two rounds of a talk with the university office bearers, we are yet to reach a conclusion,” he said.
