President Paudel urges UML Chair Oli to end House obstruction



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has urged CPN-UML Chair KP Oli to play constructively to end the obstruction at the Parliament.

During UML Chair Oli’s call on to the President on Wednesday, the President expressed concern about the UML-initiated parliament obstruction.

Oli called on President Paudel at the office of the President, Shital Niwas, today.

According to President Paudel’s press advisor Kiran Pokhrel, during the meeting, the two exchanged views on contemporary domestic political affairs and the ongoing deadlock in the parliament.

On the occasion, the Head-of-the-State was concerned about the potential consequences of a prolonged House stalemate and encouraged the main opposition party leader to work towards resolving the situation, Pokhrel said.

As the President said, the prolonged impasse in the House could lead to frustration among the people, eroding their trust in the parliamentary system.

The President also advised political parties to promote mutual cooperation and cooperation in the parliament and build an atmosphere of trust among them.
