20 injured in 8-vehicles-collision in Tikauli forest



KATHMANDU: 20 people were injured when 8 vehicles collided with each other in the Tikauli forest section of East-West Highway in Chitwan on Wednesday.

According to sources, a college bus Na 1 Ka 6131 going east from Bharatpur hit hearse vehicle Na 2 Cha 8446, Ba Pra 06-001 pa 9981, Ba Pra 03-005 Pa 97, Na 62 Pa 6032, Ba Pra 03-001 Pa 4147 numbered motorcycles and Ba Pra 06-001 Pa 2294 and Ba Pra 03-002 Pa 4198 numbered scooters coming from the opposite direction.

DSP Bijayraj Pandit, spokesperson of District Police Office Chitwan informed that 20 people were injured when all the vehicles collided with each other. Seven of the injured are in serious condition. They are being treated at Bharatpur Hospital.

Similarly, 5 injured are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, 7 at Old Medical College, and one at New Medical College.

The driver of the bus, 26-year-old Ashish Pariyar, resident of Gaindakot-9, Nawalpur, is under police custody.

The accident took place about 500 meters east of Gondrang Police Station, Chitwan.
