Two model towns to be developed in Mid-Hill Highway

KATHMANDU: Minister for Urban Development Sita Gurung has said that two cities among 10 along the Mid-Hill Highway would be developed as model towns.

She said that the two cities would be developed as model towns by taking loan assistance from the Town Development Fund. Plans have been forwarded to development Basantapur of Tehrathum and Sanfebagar of Achham district.

To implement the plan, the Fund is to give 50 percent in loans and 50 percent of others would be managed by the Ministry, according to Gurung.

Likewise, Gurung said that the citizen housing program has suffered from a lack of sufficient budget though the demand for this program is high at the public level.
