KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” is set to visit India in the second week of May after the detailed project report (DPR) of the Kathmandu-Raxual Railway is prepared.
The Indian company Konkan Railway Corporation Limited, which has completed the feasibility study of the Raxaul-Kathmandu Railway and has submitted the preliminary DPR, will prepare the final DPR within the next two weeks and the date of Prime Minister Prachanda’s visit to India will be announced soon after that, sources claimed.
According to diplomatic sources, agendas have been prepared through the discussions held at the diplomatic and informal levels.
One of the agendas will be to advance the Raxaul-Kathmandu Railway line.
Nepal and India have discussed issues at the diplomatic and informal levels for the visit.
India has prioritized the construction of the Raxaul-Kathmandu Railway, according to the source.
Ever since he was appointed as the Prime Minister in December last year, PM Dahal has been showing interest to visit the southern neighbor.
