One killed, two hurt in Rautahat shooting



RAUTAHAT: One person was killed in a land dispute in Rautahat’s Gadhimai Municipality.

Chief Superintendent of District Police Office Rautahat, Bir Bahadur Budhamagar, said, one person was killed when a shooting broke out during a land dispute between two sides in Gadhimai Municipality-8 of the district.

Local Rajkumar Rai Yadav succumbed to a bullet injury.

He was shot during the dispute and was sent to Birgunj for treatment and died on the way, police said.

It has not been known who fired the shots from a 12-bore gun during the dispute over the road being constructed by Gadhimai Municipality.

Local residents Ram Pratap Yadav, Kapildev Raya Yadav and Niranjan Yadav were injured in the firing.

Police have detained five people suspected to be involved in the incident.

Meanwhile, police have recovered the 12-bore gun used in the incident.
