Two suspension bridges to be built over Khudi rivulet

POKHARA: Two suspension bridges are to be constructed over the Khudi rivulet in Pokhara metropolis-32.

The bridges would be installed to connect the eastern bank of Chautara (Purano Gaun) and Universe Chowk (Rajako Chautari) and Barhasaya Chautara to Malmulghari from eastern bank in the same ward.

In lack of bridge over the Khudi rivulet for long, people have to spend over an hour to travel the 10-minute road.

The process of bridge construction had kindled local people’s hope for the development and prosperity of the area.

It would be easier for the Gagangaunda folks to move to the office of their own ward 32, founder of Tole Development Organization Mukunda Ghimire said.

There was a compulsion for the folks of lower Gagangaunda area to walk around one hour to reach the ward office.

Likewise, lower Gagangaunda, Raja Chautara, Malmul and Deurali are considered the agriculture production.

So, the bridges are expected to promote local market of agro products.

Ghimire said that the bridge construction was inevitable for the students of Gagangaunda area when the Gandaki province government was about to start its educational programme at Syaltarahara, the bridge construction site.
