One-on-one meeting between PM Dahal, UML Chair focuses on President’s election

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Chairman of CPN-UML KP Oli held one-on-one talks for more than two hours on Thursday morning.

Baluwatar sources said the two leaders held a one-on-one meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar.

It has been said that their discussion basically discussed the upcoming election of the country’s President, and giving continuity to the seven-party ruling coalition.

While the UML party has been insisting that the President should be a UML candidate, Maoist Center Chairman Dahal has emphasized on electing the President on the basis of national consensus.

The CPN-UML is concerned over the Maoist Center’s sudden change of its stance on the issue of President.
