KATHMANDU: In the inaugural match of the T-20 series featuring four nations, Tanzania has taken to the crease against Nepal at the Hong Kong Cricket Club ground in Hong Kong.
Having won the toss, Tanzania elected to bat first, looking to set the tone for the series.
In their previous outing, Tanzania posted a score of 69 runs, losing three wickets in 14 overs.
Sangeeta Rai claimed two wickets, while Ruveena Chhetri secured one for Nepal.
This encounter marks the first meeting between Nepal and Tanzania, with the latter ranked 19th and the former 21st in the ICC rankings.
The participating nations in the ongoing series include the host, Hong Kong, along with Nepal, Tanzania, and Japan.
The Nepalese squad, led by Captain Indu Barma, Vice-Captain Bindu Rawal, and featuring key players like Rubeena Chhetri and Sangeeta Rai, is gearing up for the challenge.
Nepal’s upcoming matches include a face-off against Hong Kong and a crucial encounter against Japan.
The top two teams from the group stage will vie for the coveted title.
