State should invest in e-sports: NC Gen Secy Thapa



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said that the state should invest in e-sports.

On the occasion of the final match of the E-Sports (PUBG Mobile) competition organized by the Kathmandu District Committee of the Nepal Student Union on Sunday, General Secretary Thapa pointed out the need for the state to invest in globally recognized e-sports.

“This era is the era of science and technology, the state should invest in globally recognized e-sports which are the choice of the youth”, he said.

Thapa thanked NSU Kathmandu for taking it forward as the participation of the new generation towards e-sports has increased recently.

NC central member Pradeep Paudel said that NSU has done a commendable job by organizing a popular PUBG tournament among the youth. He mentioned that society is gradually understanding the importance of PUBG games.

Speaking on the occasion NSU Kathmandu President Manish Dangol informed that the first, second, and third place teams in the competition, which had a total of 16 teams, were awarded with certificates and medals along with cash prize of Rs 140,000, Rs 90,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
