Speaker Ghimire informs House about vacant seat in Ilam-2



KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire today informed the House of Representatives about a HoR seat vacated by the late Subas Chandra Nembang following his demise.

The information was shared in today’s HoR session.

“As per Article 89 (F) of the Constitution of Nepal, I inform the House that a HoR seat occupied by Subas Chandra Nembang, who was elected as HoR member after winning the 2079 elections from Ilam constituency 2 is lying vacant following his death on September 12,” said Ghimire.

The HoR seat has remained vacant following the death of Nembang.

The last rites of Nembang, CPN (UML) Vice Chairperson and Chairperson of the Constituent Assembly, were performed at Pathupati Aryaghat on Thursday with state honors.

Similarly, the HoR meeting unanimously approved the proposal seeking to send the Bill to amend some Nepal Acts, 2080 to the respective committee for a clause-wise discussion.

In the meeting, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung tabled the proposal seeking consideration to send the Bill to amend some Nepal Acts, 2080 for a clause-wise discussion.

Speaker Ghimire announced the passage of the proposal unanimously.

In the meeting, Speaker Ghimire apprised the House about the letter received from the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. According to the letter, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal has been assigned to look after the affairs of the Ministry of Urban Development in the absence of its minister Sita Gurung, who on September 10 left for the Netherlands to participate in the infrastructure-related program.

The HoR will next meet at 1:00 pm on October 1.
