Baikuntha Aryal appointed Chief Secretary

Bairagi appointed National Security Council Advisor



KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Baikuntha Aryal as the Chief Secretary.

Aryal was appointed as the Chief Secretary by a meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Singha Durbar, Thursday morning.

Aryal, who was working as a Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, was retiring from his five-year tenure as Secretary on June 17.

Earlier, he has worked in the Ministry of Information and Communication; Industry, Commerce and Supply; National Planning Commission, among others.

Meanwhile, Shankardas Bairagi, the current Chief Secretary, has been appointed as National Security Council Advisor.
