Elderly man killed in elephant attack in Siraha



SIRAHA: An elderly person died after being attacked by an elephant at Golbazaar municipality-1 in Siraha district on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Tul Bahadur Ale Magar of Golbazaar municipality-3. The elephant attacked him when he was returning home after attending a dance program organized at Golbazaar municipality-1.

Chairperson of Golbazaar municipality-3, Dhan Prasad Lama, said Tul Bahadur who was returning home after attending a dance program with friends, could not run away and the elephant attacked him. Tul Bahadur’s friends, however, were able to escape.

Chief of Area Police Office, Golbazar, Police Inspector Dupendra Prasad Budhathoki, said a police team reached the incident site soon after the incident and chased the elephant.

Tul Bahadur’s body has been taken to Provincial Hospital, Lahan, for post-mortem.
