10-party coalition meeting ends inconclusively



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the 10-party coalition held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar on Wednesday evening ended without reaching a conclusion.

According to CPN-Maoist Center leader Shakti Basnet, the meeting discussed various issues including the vice presidential election, and vote of confidence, among others.

He said that the meeting, however, ended positively and that they decided to sit again on Thursday and take further decisions.

“There was a discussion about establishing an understanding between the 10 parties for the vice presidential election. The discussion has been positive,” leader Basnet said, adding, “A decision will be made on this issue on Thursday.”

He informed that the senior leaders of the ruling alliance also discussed cabinet expansion and power-sharing during the meeting.
