KATHMANDU: In a significant milestone for the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the party has initiated ward-level sessions today, marking the first time such gatherings have been organized since its establishment.

Santosh Pariyar, Chief Whip of the parliamentary party, revealed that the ward sessions are taking place simultaneously in one ward from each of the seven provinces.

These ward-level conventions are a crucial precursor to the upcoming National Convention, following earlier Municipal and Provincial Conventions. Today’s sessions are being conducted in Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality-11, Jitpur Simra Sub-Metropolitan City-2, Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-10, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-13, Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-20, Bheriganga Municipality-6, and Tikapur Municipality-1.

Prominent central representatives of the party, including General Secretary and Spokesperson Dr. Mukul Dhakal, Joint General Secretary and Member of Parliament Sumana Shrestha, Joint General Secretary Bipin Acharya, Treasurer Lima Adhikari, Organization Department Secretary Shankar Shrestha, and Central Member Vijay Jairu, are actively participating in all seven provinces.

Shankar Shrestha, the secretary of the organization department, disclosed that each ward would establish an 11-member committee, complete with a chairperson. Notably, the committee composition will include at least four female members, with one member being a Dalit woman. Additionally, six members must be youths below the age of 45, emphasizing inclusivity and representation within the party’s organizational structure.
