Police arrest gamblers in Swayambhu and Sankhu

KATHMANDU: Police teams dispatched from Swayambhu and Sankhu have arrested a substantial number of gamblers.

The Police Circle in Swayambhu arrested a gambler with Rs 4 lakhs in cash, confiscating the money from gambling dens in the area on Tuesday.

According to Kumodh Dhungana, Spokesperson of the District Police Complex Kathmandu, a team deployed under the jurisdiction of Sankhu Police apprehended 17 gamblers from two locations in Sankharapur Municipality-1, namely Nanglebhare, taking decisive action.

A total of Rs 1 lakh 17 thousand in cash was recovered from the individuals involved.

Simultaneously, in adherence to the Tihar targeted security plan, investigations are underway in accordance with the pre-determined action plan aimed at reducing accidents caused by intoxication.
