PM Dahal affirms willingness to face arrest if implicated in corruption case

KATHMANDU: In a resolute statement, CPN-Maoist Center Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ declared that he would willingly face arrest and imprisonment if his name emerges in a corruption case.

The assertion came during his address at the Maoist Center’s Bagmati Province Committee meeting convened in Kathmandu on Monday.

Prime Minister Dahal underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to combat corruption, regardless of the individuals involved.

Addressing concerns about the reported involvement of party Vice Chair Krishna Bahadur Mahara and his family members in media outlets, a Maoist center leader cited the Prime Minister’s words: “If my name arises during investigations, I am prepared to be handcuffed and confined, every individual involved in corruption has to face the legal action.”

Prime Minister Dahal refuted claims that the government’s stability is compromised due to corruption allegations, asserting that the allegations do not pose a genuine threat to his government.
