ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup: Nepal loses to Pakistan by 4 wickets



KATHMANDU: In the first match of the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup held in Sri Lanka, Nepal suffered a defeat against Pakistan ‘A’. In Group B, Pakistan defeated Nepal by 4 wickets.

Pakistan completed the target of 180 runs given by Nepal by losing 6 wickets in 32 overs of 5 balls.

Tayyab Tahir scored 51 runs and Omar Yousaf scored 36 runs to give victory to Pakistan. For Nepal, Lalit Rajwanshi took 3 wickets, Pawan Saraf took 2 wickets and Kushal Malla took one wicket.

Earlier, after winning the toss at the Colombo Cricket Club ground, Nepal batted first and made 179 runs losing all wickets in 37 overs.

For Nepal, Sompal Kami scored 75 runs and Pratis GC added 26 runs.

Kushal Malla and Arjun Saud scored 17 runs each and Aashif Shaikh scored 12 runs. Gulshan Jha scored 13 runs.

Captain Rohit Paudel was dismissed for 4 runs and Pawan Saraf and Kushal Bhurtel were dismissed for 1 run each. Bhim Sarki returned to the pavilion for zero runs.

Shahnawaz Dahani took 5 wickets and Mohammad Wasim 4 wickets for Pakistan. Muwasir Khan took 1 wicket.
