Nepal Medical College closes OPD services indefinitely



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Medical College, Attarkhel has closed its OPD service indefinitely after the patient’s relatives vandalized the hospital.

Issuing a notice on Wednesday, the hospital administration notified that all the OPD services have been stopped until the person involved in the vandalism is booked by law and the safety of the health workers and the institution is ensured.

However, the emergency services of the hospital will be in operation.

On June 11, 71-year-old Suvarnakumar Dhital of Gokarneshwar Municipality, Makalbari was admitted for gallbladder surgery.

However, Dhital’s relatives took to protest and vandalism after Dhital’s condition got worsened after the surgery.

According to the hospital administration, the relatives of the hospital have committed unwanted activities such as ransacking and vandalizing the hospital premises.

Dhital is currently undergoing treatment on a ventilator.
