Leopard attack injures three in Dhankuta

DHANKUTA: Three local people were injured in a leopard attack in the forest at Choubise-5, Bodhe, Dhankuta.

The injured are 26-year-old Mukesh Yakhha, 30-year-old Bhuvan Yakha, and 33-year-old Pabin Yakhha, police said.

According to the police, they were attacked by a leopard while looking for fodder for pigs in the forest near Maunakhola on Saturday afternoon.

Among the injured, Pabin has been treated at a local medical center, while Mukesh and Bhuvan are being treated at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. They were taken to the hospital on Saturday night.

It is said that Mukesh was initially attacked by a leopard and others were injured while trying to separate him. Mukesh’s hands and feet were seriously injured, said Sub-Inspector Sharda Prasad Sah of Rajarani Police Office.
