PALPA: A person died after being drowned in Bhutkhola-based pond at Tinau rural municipality of Palpa district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Shivam Jaiswal, 20, of Siddharthanagar municipality-12.
The incident took place when Jaiswal suddenly slipped in to the pond at around 10: 00 am while walking with friends.
A police team from Police Post Dobhan rescued Jaiswal soon after the incident and sent to Lumbini Provincial Hospital for treatment. He died while undergoing treatment, according to the District Police Office, Palpa.
Investigation is underway, the police added.
