KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stated that the government is making efforts to bring back Nepali youths who have joined the Russian Army.
Addressing the 29th Convocation Ceremony of Kathmandu University held in Dhulikhel on Wednesday, the Prime Minister expressed the government’s commitment to repatriate the Nepalis in Russian Army.
“It’s alarming that over 200 Nepali youths have enlisted in the Russian Army due to various pressures,” Prime Minister Dahal expressed his concern. “Our government is exerting maximum efforts to ensure their safe return.”
He emphasized that the misconception about the lack of opportunities in Nepal has driven numerous Nepali youngsters to seek work overseas.
“The narrative suggesting a scarcity of opportunities in Nepal has compelled many youths to face numerous challenges abroad,” Dahal highlighted. “I want to reassure them that Nepal currently offers significant educational and job prospects. Not only can they manage their personal lives better here, but they can also contribute to the nation’s progress.”
He encouraged educated graduates to apply their acquired knowledge and skills for the betterment of their country and humanity.
“I appeal to the educated and experienced individuals, especially those from Kathmandu University and other Nepali universities, to utilize their expertise gained abroad for Nepal’s long-term growth. Consider it as a gift to your homeland and a way to contribute to its prosperity,” he urged.
