Vigilance urged against fraudulent schemes in the name of foreign employment in Israel

KATHMANDU: The Department of Foreign Employment has issued a cautionary message, urging the public to remain vigilant against potential fraud related to employment opportunities, particularly in Israel.

Department Spokesperson and Information Officer, Kabiraj Upreti, emphasized that the deployment of Nepali migrant workers to care homes in Israel is being conducted through official channels, adhering to the labor agreement between the Nepal Government and Israel. Discussions are ongoing about the potential deployment of Nepali migrant workers for agricultural purposes, but no final decision has been reached yet.

The Department has raised concerns about the activities of a group of fraudsters who falsely claim to facilitate employment for migrant workers in Israeli farming under the ‘Learn and Earn’ program. A thorough investigation into this matter is currently underway.

As individuals seek opportunities for foreign employment, the Department advises caution and emphasizes the importance of verifying information through official channels to avoid falling victim to potential scams. Stay informed and alert to ensure a safe and secure process for those seeking employment abroad.
